Market Research on Chinese Wind Power Industry: China Accounts for 45% of Market Shares Across the World

Based on the Report of Market Prospective and Investment Strategy Planning on China Equipment of Wind Power Industry issued by Forward Research Institute, in the aspect of newly-increased installed capacity, China tops the charts. This is largely related to the new energy policy support in the Chinese economic transition. Specifically, Chinese newly-increased capacity of wind power reached by 23196MW in 2014, accounting for 45.1% of worldwide newly-increased installed capacity; German is ranked as second with increased 5279MW and occupies10.2% of the global capacity.

Also, top three countries are China, US and German regarding to the total installed capacity of wind power in 2014, respectively accounting for 31.0%, 17.8% and10.6%.

Recently, the signing ceremony of sovereign guarantee letter of commitment between China and Argentina has been held in Buenos Aires, marking the official start of "Little Angel" project. It is estimated that this project investment would reach $4.4 billion. Adopting world-class wind equipment and technologies supplied by China, the project allows State Grid of Argentina to supply clean electric power to southern part and other areas.

Analysis suggests that Chinese wind power technologies to Latin America is only the first step for Chinese wind power to go global. In the past ten years, Chinese wind power industry has undergone fast growth. At present, China dominates the world in terms of newly-increased installed capacity or total installed capacity.

According to the prediction of wind power development, the total installed capacity of wind power nationwide will reach 120million kW by the end of 2020, and 500million kW by the end of 2050. The scale-development of wind power not only further improves all techno-economic indicators, but also enhances the competitiveness profitability of companies. The prospects of Chinese wind power investment is excellent.
